Thanks for this great post.

If you consider the entire 3bn a day Forex market you can imagine that the average private investor has a bigger chance of loosing than winning. Therefore I highly recommend anyone interested in Forex trading to get a good online training program from a reliable source. And be sure to test out everything you learn on a 'demo account'.

You are right, there are a number of must do's. One of the main must do's in my experience is to have a trading system that has a sold back tested 'edge'. If you don't understand the edge in your manual trading system or your trading robot, you could be best to avoid using it until you have proved that there is an edge.

This can come from back testing and paper trading and then you can scale into the market if your trading system has an edge AND your can apply it consistenly.

Dealing with the right hand edge of a chart is harder than it seems when you are testing the system with the benefit of seeing what is coming up on a completed chart.
